Messier 33 - A Tale of Two Cities

The week has been largely pants, but after getting the SII/ and OIII data for NGC6888 and NGC891 (still working on that one), I managed to grab some RGB data for M33. Now, given the sky conditions and Moon, that data was not in itself all that usable, but...guassian blurred up a bit, Noels actions to remove light pollution, and then some gentle saturation tweaking, my Atik 314L data in the UK when combined with the Atik 4021 L channel I got in Spain gave me something usable.

The only bits which truly overlap are the main galaxy area, the 4021 having a vastly larger FOV, but...I'm quite pleased with the outcome, Two totally different locations, totally different seeing, totally different cameras, and the wonders of Maxim DL align and combine, alongside Photoshop.

The data seems to have merged very well Nick. The Image looks superb.

A very rich image and amazing combining so much together for a super image. Taken from different countries now thats bragging.

I like this image - a lot.. but what are the blue clouds in the galaxy ? Are they "real" ?

They are in the raw data from Spain.. (the extended bits)

There is a flat blob/spec in the top portion

If you stretch the mono version a tad, it's all there..(just checked)
