Hiya folks, I want to motorise my filter wheel. Any circuit diagrams out there ?

Thans for the info Steve, had a look at the site and a OTT for me.

basicaly i want to use a microswitch, a little motor, switch etc, I just cant for the life of me figure out a circuit.

In its simplest form you could try this as a starting point.

Momentarily press SW1. The motor will start and operate the microswitch SW2. SW2 will keep the motor running until the FW reaches the next filter, at which point SW2 will switch off and the motor stops.

The tricky part will be to get the microswitch positioned correctly.

A stepper motor is what you really need, but then it starts to get complicated.

Thanks for that Steve. I have just stripped down some old disk drives which have nice little stepper motors, but as you say the driver and control circuitry starts to get complicated. I think your simple circuit will do fine.
