HEQ5 polar scope

Recommended Posts

I was just checking that the polar scope reticule is aligned with the mount. No adjustments necessary, BUT, I noticed that when rotating RA the whole view and reticule circles round. Does this mean the polar scope is out of alignment with the mount?

If so how do I correct it? ;)

cheers

Andrew

hi

if your centerpoint in the reticule stays on target, when you turn the RA, it is fine, if the centerpoint drifts away from the target while turning the RA, you need to adjust it.

it is supposed to do that, but if the center stays sentered all the way around, its aligned correctly.

you turn it so the big dipper is in the same position as in the sky, and senter polaris in the right spot in the reticule, and you are aligned.
