M33 gradient ?

Recommended Posts

Early days in imaging, but I had a go at M33 last Friday. 14x240s subs and 3 darks. After a couple of curve 'boosts' in PS I noticed the right side of the image seemed to be brighter than the left side. I've not gone through all the subs yet, but can anyone explain this?

I get this when imaging certain parts of the sky from home.

It is a light leak.

Do you have any street lamps in that direction.

They dont even have to be that close, a small amount of light can cause big problems.

Or if the light is from 'behind' you should block up the viewfinder.

I have to deal with gradients like this all the time, mine caused by light pollution and dewy atmosphere. GradientXterminator will completely eradicate it, I ran your jpeg through just once, see attached.
