Beautiful Meteor

Tonight I saw a meteor which must have been a Draconid going by it`s direction. There were three others seen by the people I was with, so it seems the shower is going off quite well. It was a kind of yellow/golden colour, quite slow with a yellow/golden tail that seemed to sparkle. Amazing. I don`t think I have ever seen a meteor look so good.

I went out to have a look after seeing your report within 30s of going outside I saw a really bright one. I decided to get my cold weather gear on and set about taking 20s images with the Canon400D and Sigma 10mm lens whilst keeping my eyes peeled in the general area. Sods law over the next hour or so not one more was to be seen

I nipped out last night and saw a beauty - golden, slow moving, heading from zenith to ursa major...... was about 23:30 I think...

According to one source that describes this years draconids, it states that "no activity is expected till 2011". Going by our observations it sounds like there was quite a decent peak going on this year. Pity that it is cloudy tonight.
