EQ4 Goto...

Hi Guys/Gals,

I am after a bit of advice - I have an old EQ4 mount here, which has had a Meade Goto kit fitted - with the #497 handset. It did work quite well, but recently has started slipping. I took the motor case apart today, and discovered that one of the plastic gears is partly stripped. It was a freebie anyway when I brought my C8, so I am not too upset.

Now, the question is, can I fit one of the Synscan Goto upgrade kits for the EQ5 onto this mount?

Looking at the specs for the EQ4 and EQ5, there doesn't seem to be alot of difference between them in terms of fittings - so has anyone done this successfully?

Richie, I am fairly sure that SW do a goto conversion specifically for the EQ4, might be wrong though.
