Shot through the Heart

Hi

Here is the center of the IC 1805, the Heart Nebula, using a Ha narrowband filter.

I used my replacement filter from Astronomik, but I still have some haloes

Also the stars are not so good on this image. I guess thats one of the problems of setting up and taking apart for every session.

Image taken with an Atik 314L+ and a Skywatcher 8" Newt.

Nice image - check the subs is suspect that you have a single sub that has jumped as there a small blip at about 1 oclock on all the brighter stars... that may be the casue of all the problems...

Pretty much every one of the subs has the same defect!

Could it be an issue with the new filter?

Possibly somethings not sitting Square...?

Have you tried some star reduction it might just pull them back into shape a bit ?

Make Stars Smaller there used to be a free action set around which had variuos different levels of Star reduction and star removal in it.. Couldnt find it when i looked the other day...

Very nice Arran. You know, the stars look better in the edit, but it may just be me, but I think the clouds in the first one look better/sharper/more pronounced... (just a personal thing)

Thats a by product of the star reducing tool.

Really I should have used it along with a mask, as not to affect the rest of the image.

Shame about the stars Arran as the nebula looks really nice. I wasted best part of last night because I forgot to plug in my dew straps
