Sun filter

Hi can anyone direct me to where i can buy a sun filter thats fits over the cap on my 8" Dob tube cover as i cant find one anywhere?

Buy an A4 sheet of Baader Solar Film & roll your own ... save loads of money!

Also remove or cover your finderscope if you have one.

I know scopesnskies is generally avoided because their poor service record but they were ok on this one. There are other sites that make this filter as well.

Hi Dazraz,

I got a sheet of A4 Baader Solar Film and just stuck in over the hole in the end cap with some glue. I also used a small cable tie round the edge just to make sure it would stay on, you can never be to careful!! I like Docs idea of taking the finder off (I usually just keep the caps on) especially if there's any kids about. heres the link on FLO - Solar Filters
