Comet W3

Managed to find this comet for the first time last night, star hopping through 102mm refractor using the Starmap software on iphone (brilliant bit of kit). Very small and faint although it responds well to averted vision - it would be easy to overlook if simply scanning the sky.

It was not visible through 15x50 binoculars (although nearby M27 and M71 were visible) I guess because of the relatively small size.

This brings my total number of comets observered to 5.

I saw this at SSP and I saw exactly what you have drawn in your wonderful sketch. Basically just a fuzzy grey smudge minus a tail.
