wheres mars

does any one know where and when to see mars, can clearly see jupitor out to the south, but would really like to see mars, is it visible dis time of year.

I believe its in Gemini atm so it its an early morning object. Look to the east around 3am and it will be the "extra star" by M35. Its not very bright or large atm. About mag 1 and approx 5.5 arc secs in dia....HTH

Mars is rising in the North East right now, but give it a couple of hours to rise to a better altitude. Have you got Stellarium? It's free and will show you what is in the sky...

sorry moocher im new to astronamy so half the stuff you said dnt make sense to me , but ill be looking tonight in that direction hopefully be able to spot it if it stays clear, cheers

i have software from celestron dat i gt wit scope it shows where everytin is, but just didnt know about mars direction an time

In about 2 hours time, Mars will be about 20 deg above the horizon, and almost due East... Hope that helps amateur

Saturn is very close to the Sun right now, so not a good time to be looking. I really do recommend downloading Stellarium it'll show you what is in the sky, and when... :-)

Yeah if you look due east about 3am youm will see 3 pretty bright stars, 2 white and one has a redish tinge. the 2 white ones are above and in line with eachother vertically and the red one is down and right of them. thats mars.

Google gemini, its just down and right from the lower of the 2 heads so to speak.

better still get Stellarium its great and free
