I used RO water (from a tropical fish shop) and paid £5 for 10 gallons including the plastic can ! Regretfully, It did leave a very very slight mark upon drying but this was only visible by direct torchlight (hint - not to be done unless you are brave !) . So, I cleaned it again and this time, dried the mirror using my wife's hairdryer with the mirror leaning at an angle

Result - no marks and a spanking mirror in no time at all
