Many thanks Cat, that was purely prime focus with the 500d (still learning my way round it). Noticed something tonight though on my other thread while imaging. I can see what people mean now about more mag decreases the amount of light. So far I got a Hyperion 17mm hooked up to a 2X barlow (meade #126) on to the chip and I can get nice and close, but not so the atmosphere disrupts too much. Exposure though is at 125th. iso800,.seems to get nice results, take the barlow out and I can go shorter. Really interesting this.. god knows how you DSO guys work it out for what your're looking at...live and learn heh heh:headbang:
