focal reducer 0.5 for visual use !!!!

hi, has anyone any experience in using 1.25 0.5 focal [antares type] reducers for visual use, i wish to reduce the magnification on eyepieces used on a pair of 100mm [ 560mm ] chinese miyauchi clone binoculars. i am hoping to use the reducers on a pair of rini 30mm 60 degree eyepieces and maybe two other pairs of eyepieces i have. i like big eye lens eyepieces with low power and wide views , any ideas anyone ? regards.

Hi Stuart.

If you are refering to the atik style that screws into the eyepiece filter thread then yes it will work, ive used mine screwed into a WO swan 20mm eyepiece with no visual problems.

Hello Stuart.

I too have used the Antares reducer and it works fine until you get up to a 40mm or so eyepiece, when you start to get vignetting.
