While I was imaging away with NGC7023 I was just browsing the busy sky around the Swan with the Lightbridge and came across what I thought was a galaxy next to the brightest star in a line down from Gienah Cygni. I had a good look at it for a while and was quite surprised about it being so bright - whereas the smaller galaxies are a bit trickier - even in the 16" Lightbridge. I thought it was a funny shape for a galaxy with a bright core at one end and an elongated shape (I didn't click that it was a classic comet shape! doh!!!).

So this morning I checked CdC to see which galaxy it was and ... bingo there was a comet on screen where the "galaxy" should have been! Well worth having a nosey at if you haven't already.
