ShortTube 80 info help.

The focusser on my Intes Mak is kapputt and I'm a replacement is pretty expensive (£200 ish!!), so I was thinking maybe a ST80 focuser could be made to fit.

Could someone let me know the diameter of the focusser where it meets the OTA and the minimum distance from the OTA the focuser can be racked into.

Yes James, it's the inward focus I'm worried about (well, that and shelling out £200 on a focuser!)

Could you not buy a Wiiliam Optics Crayford for the Intes? They cost about £110 but are real nice.

sadly the price has gone a bit since i bought one but they have added dual speed and 360 rotatable. Cost - £159 delivered.

It's a stunning focuser though, it's what i added to the ED100.
