Sunspots - 23rd June

Captured yesterday evening, 100-400 lens + teleconverter handheld, Baader AstroSolar film fitted to the front of the lens, you can just about make out the sunspots if you look carefully and use your imagination .

Not very good, just finding my way at the moment, lets hope there are more to practice on. Focus is a lot more difficult than I thought but happy for a first go.

1/800 sec @ f/8 - ISO100, Canon 50D + 100-400L Lens + 1.4x Teleconverter (840mm FL), Baader AstroSolar film.

Dona a rework of the above image to bring out the detail, happier with this version, easier to identify the Sun spot group.

Ahhh.. Sunspots or Dust Bunnies ... Nicely caught Brendan... specially handheld with that rig up.

Thanks John, definitely sunspots as I checked on Spaceweather (Sunspot Group 1023), I had missed them completely, was expecting something different but they also appeared on an image taken in the Morning in the lower southern region, had moved position by the evening.
