Morning Planets 2009 June 16

Just to prove that I do occasionally look at things other than variable stars, here's a couple of planets from this morning. DMK41 camera, CPC 1100 prime focus, 830nm infra-red pass filter. Transparency awful (mist/light fog), seeing very unstable.

Venus, 0547 UT

Jupiter, 0312 UT, with Europa, Ganymede & Io (from left); Callisto was way out of shot further left still

A colour version of Jupiter is in progress.

Thanks .... very late night, given the weather forecast for tonight I decide to work right through, it was the right decision - tonight is definitely NBG for anything except sleeping!
