Today I went out the the Canberra Deep Space Communications Complex and shot 5 hours worth of still frames of DSS 43 antenna, tracking Mars Reconnaisance Orbiter, Mars Oddysey and Ulysses.

That is brilliant it's giving me a "proud to be part of the human race" moment. Just seen "the world still turns while you sleep" video too - I could watch that for hours

Awwww...you don't know how nice it is to hear things like that Amanda.

Yes, I find the whole thing quite stirring, moving, spiritual and emotional. Dark site...all alone in peace. Watching all of creation overhead and pondering with every fibre of your being. A bit of nice music always amplifies it too...I love this hobby.

The music really adds to it, you're right Baz. I definitely know what you mean about the spiritual feelings that you get.. I'm not that way inclined.. but I can't help but contemplate. I've often wondered how people feel when they view sights like the Milky Way, personally, I find it quite reassuring that no matter how rubbish I am feeling, there is something much bigger and much more powerful than me out there - the whole cosmos. Your videos are 'awesome' in the true sense of the word
