Those are really good, you have the blue/green areas very nicely captured.

Have you tried a tool to remove the gradients? I use Pixinsight LE (free) which would nicely give you an even background for these pics, and then you could darken the background a little more. I believe that Gradient Xterminator would do the same, but I havent used that. You can also pull more detail out and make better use of levels once you are working with a flat background.
