Return to the Coma Cluster

Recommended Posts

It was a month or so ago that I originally had a go at the Coma Cluster, but on that occasion I used the ED80 and was dissapointed with the result. So a couple of days ago I brought the C8-N to bear on this target and got just shy of 2 hours of subs.

The processing was challenging, as there was a fair amount of LP to deal in about 50% of the subs with the target heading west (my worst bit of the sky).

I'm not saying how many versions it went through before I was satisfied, but less than ten :cool:. Still don't know if it is tad too blue still:icon_scratch:.

cheers

Keith

Details: DSLR on C8-N;

ISO800, 23 X 5min subs;

Guiding: QHY5 on ED80 using PHD;

Processing: PixInsight DBE, PSCS3

Thanks Arran, there's probably more galaxies in this shot than stars:)

Looking at this on my screen at work I think both the red and blue channels need to be reduced as I think I can see a magenta hue going on.

Back to photoshop for me tonight then;).

cheers

Keith
