Mak 127 version star diagonal 2".

Hi, 

There is a versión of the SW Mak 127 with a star diagonal 2" and a 2" Eyepiece.. 

Anyone have used this versión? 

Some advantage on the 1.25" Versión?

Apparently the ones sold in the U.S. have a 2" visual back, but you can convert the 1.25" version - I have done so with mine. You get the advantage of the wider views possible with 2" eyepieces, but there is some vignetting (dimming) in the outer field. Not so much that I have noticed. You also get the extra comfort of a chunkier 2" diagonal to hold the heavier eyepieces you may have.

Whether it's worth it is an individual decision. I recall @Louis D has chipped in on previous discussions.

With the 2” diagonal you also get a slightly longer focal length owing to the longer light-path than a 1.25” diagonal.
