Mars and Uranus Conjunction 15 July 2024

Recommended Posts

I got them! This is the third time I've captured the conjunction of these two worlds. I battled some high thin cloud and humidity in the wee hours and managed to get a decent image, a single 5s exposure at ISO 3200 through the 127mm Mak:

I also got a red giant in the frame!

Cheers, Reggie 🤩

Nice capture Reggie. Looking forward to image Mars later in the season.

Thanks, my friend. I can see just a hint of detail visually on Mars. I won't start the lucky imaging until later in the season. I always look forward to your images :)

The battling paid off…. What was the angular distance between them at that point?

Thanks, Craig. They were a scant 33' apart!
