Noctilucent cloud display 25th June 2024 from North Cornwall

Recommended Posts

Luckily enough I managed to capture the NLCs after 3 years of chasing, hunting and failed attempts.

The Noctilucent cloud display from Delabole in North Cornwall last night 25th June 2024 at around 23.16-23.30.
The first one is at 18mm 400iso 5 sec f4.5
The second one is at 35mm 400iso 5 sec f4.5
Canon 600D and 18-55mm kit lens.

I had to pack up my kit quickly as the cloud that I thought was eating up the nice bright display was in actual fact fog rolling in and threatened to soak everything.

Trying to navigate across the 2 large fields back to the village I live in was hairy indeed and American werewolf in London came to mind.

Clear skies

Awesome - beautifully done, Lee. Glad you managed to capture it. 🙌

Thank you Paul, that's very kind of you indeed.

It was a shame the fog came in as the display was just peaking and  only getting brighter. I'm glad I got something after all this time.

Nice captures

The moon was 89% on the 25th so unlikely to encounter werewolves. Although a shuck is possible. I'm usually ok being out in the  small hours alone, but don't go reading the paranormal database, about a specific rural location a few days before going to that location by yourself at 1am ( :iamwithstupid: 🤔

Thank you.

I don't mind being out alone in the dark anymore, I've gotten quite used to it now and peaceful.
