Craters in pastel (more training)

The continuous bad weather makes me stay inside and test new mediums. Today I was inspired by my earlier post about John Russell's pastels and decided to test some craters VS my low quality pastels.

I was very frustrated while working on these two experiments (both from pictures of the same random crater), but I have to say that I'm not too disappointed for a first test with this medium. I used a simple scale of grays (my white is basically a gray...). Constant reminder of the mantra: trust the process. It was actually a lot of fun!
