Kydex

Does anyone know if you can get this in the UK, whilst the Kydex itself is cheap enough from the US the postage trebles the total cost.

It's the material that is used on the UTA of Obsessions for example and it's also used to make light shields which is what I want it for.

Want to make one for my Dob.

Does it have to be Kydex if its beign used for the light shield?

There are a whole range of other materials that may be just as suitable and a lot cheaper...

So where is it going - is it wrapping around a truss dob or is it for a dew-shield?

I guess your after something matt black and opaque which isnt forming a "structural" component?

You could even go for the carbon fibre look..... they have an online product stock page

Ah cool it was a "TLA" that I wasn't familiar with... any of the 0.5-1.0 mm thick vac forming materials should be ideal for that.

Can be cut with a pair of kitchen scissors....

It's worth a try and no stupid postage from the US haven't got much to loose really it might be worth getting a sheet of 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5 as the postage will likely be the same if you get it all the same time... its always handy stuff to have around...especailly if they have a minimum order...
