Lost book, replaced

This is a book I was given when my interest was starting - about 50 years ago.  However, I've not been able to find where my old copy is, despite looking several times over the last ~15 years.

But seeing a copy in a National Trust second hand bookshop... well, that's not to be sniffed at.

That's awesome! I'd imagine as you read it, you'll rekindle the thrill and excitement it must have given you all those years ago. I love Patrick's books because he wrote as he spoke, and you can hear his enthusiasm and personality as you read. Well done in finding a copy. It's a Patrick book I've never seen nor read, so you'll have to do a Jackanory review for us sometime soon. 😆

That's great, it's good to have a book you connect with on a sentimental level

I've also managed to somehow loose my favourite astronomy book. Which I will soon replace. Planet Observer's Handbook by Fred W Price.
