Viewing Locations

I'm wondering if there is a place on the net where you can search for recomended viewing locations in the UK?

I know you can join a local club and ask but was just wondering, I'm from North Nottingham by the way.

Hello and welcome to Stargazers Lounge Astonomical Forum "sat12345."

I don't know of any particular website that might give "best viewing sites" in the UK. It might be a case of just travelling around your immediate "locale" and seeing if you can find a few good spots.

I live in Connah's Quay, North Wales, and whilst I do know of several great local places to get clear un-polluted views of the night sky, it is having the time to transport my scope to these places. I just about have the time to set my scope up in my "back yard" thesedays!

All I can suggest is "googling" "Un light polluted astro observing sites" (or something along those lines), and see what comes up.

Hi sat12345,

as philsail1 has mentioned its probably best to just drive around to find a local spot, but make sure you take someone with you when you go observing,

sometimes local fields are good with farmers permission of course.
