Guiding issues with a 174mm Mini

Greetings Everyone,

I am trying to figure out if my gain is normal for my guide camera, the 174mm Mini.  I have a 220 and a 120, both that I can use with my 250mm WO Guide telescope, Celestron Off Axis Guider and the ZWO 50mm Guide telescope with Gain ranges of under 100 and intervals of under two seconds and I can capture plenty of stars.

With the 174, using a ASIAir I am forced to use gains of over 200 on the scopes and upward of 3 second intervals to see any stars.  With my Celestron Off Access Guider in combination with the 174, my gain must be set to max of 400 and I still cannot see stars until I refresh at 3 or 4 seconds.

Is anyone else experiencing the same?

I tried opening a ticket with ZWO and even tried getting a RMA but they are the worlds worst at customer support.

That doesn't sound quite right. Even around 120 gain with my 224mc and 290mm via the air I can clearly see stars at 1-2s exposures on a typical night.

You might have to rotate your OAG to see a better star selection, what's the FL of the scope? 3-4 seconds via an OAG I've only ever done when my narrowband filter is in front of the OAG, it's better to put filters after it.
