Skywatcher Cq350 mount cabling.

Recommended Posts

Just thought I'd post about the new Cq350 through the mount cabling.

I have the following,

1. Mount power cable.

2. Hub powered USB cable .

3. Hub power cable.

4. Ecmod cable.

Hub

1. Two power cables from mount hub to focuser.

2. Two usb3 cables from mount hub to two Zwo Asi 178mm cameras.

All working and controlling from mini pc into warm room.

I've tried to show the cabling flow in the pics.

Does everything work via the integrated HUB? For me, the ASI6200MM is constantly dropping and freezing... powering the hub doesn not help...

Hiya, sorry been away. I only use it with planetary cameras, but yes it does work OK. I have to use by the powering the hub with the supplyed power adaptor. I've not tried it with my AA26c. One strange thing I have encountered is that I have to plug in the cameras, (running three at a time) then unplug the USB to the mount and plug it back in for firecapture or sharpcap to connect with the camera's. But with that routine upon powering up the mount, mini computer and hub the cameras work fine.

That is a super looking set up Nigella, clearly you don’t work in IT with that level of neatness to the cabling.

IT at work on Weds did some mods to the desk cabling and it looked like it was done by a 5 year old! Mind you most of them do look quite young 😉
