Bigwings
Cloud remains a problem but managed to get a gap at 2.30 a.m.Managed M5 & M10 a nice pair of Globular Clusters.Fuzzies with the 40 mm but going to Antares W70 15mm and 2x Barlow just an amazing dense ball of stars emerging from the fuzzy patch. Cloud stopped play at 3.30.Clear SkiesMike
Talitha
I'm glad you were able to get some viewing between the clouds. What magnification does the W70 and 2x give you? M5 is a real beauty at 62x through my f/10 8" SCT.
Bigwings
50x Skywatcher 40mm EP135x with the W70 15mmadding the Barlow to give x270 is pushing my f/10 8"SCT as far as the literature says is wise in UK seeing. Not too bright to say the least but stars visible. Best view was at 135x
Doc
Well done on spotting these two globs.I love looking at Globs and increasing the magnification so it looks and feels like you are inside them.
Talitha
Thanks Mike, I must have missed the equipment list in your signature. The highest I usually go on resolvable globs is 200x (10mm) to 222x (9mm ortho)... my seeing doesn't support anything higher. Backing down on the power doesn't show the main core as well, but it allows my averted vision to pick out the surrounding nebulosity and gives me a better idea of the actual size and shape of the glob. Bigwings
Thanks for that Talitha , I will try the averted vison next time I see them. They are available but behind cloud as usual LOL
