hawaiiruss
Here are my first photos of the moon, taken with my Canon EOS 40D camera connected to a Skywatcher Mak-Newtonian 190mm f/5.3. I took a few just after sunset whilst the sky was turning a deeper shade of blue, then a good few more when it did get dark. No post-processing was performed on the photos other than contrast enhancement. I'm surprsingly pleased with the results, considering this is my first attempt at Astrophotography! philsail1
Nice photos "hawairuss!"Excellent first attempt - was your camera fitted to scope, or just hand held to the eyepiece?philsail1

hawaiiruss
Nice photos "hawairuss!"Excellent first attempt - was your camera fitted to scope, or just hand held to the eyepiece?philsail1My camera was connected directly to the telescope (prime focus?). I used the live view mode on my Canon EOS 40D to obtain sharp focus, then took several exposures at various shutter speeds. The best exposures I obtained were in the range 1/40 just after sunset, then around 1/100 when it was dark.
