The second morning not wasted!

It never seems to fail, the best skies are on a work day. Out at 3:30 am to feed the chickens and almost called out.

Venus was absolutely brilliant, to the West Jupiter was visible but pale compared to Venus!

I didn't even attempt to count the stars in Orion. I'm sure I would have got depressed!

Everywhere you looked, the sky was black!

To the East about 45° above the horizon, I could see a very distinct fuzzy in a small grouping of stars similar to what you faintly see with Andromeda, but wrong location.

I'll have to try and figure out what I was seeing after I get home.

I know the feeling!

Early shifts, clear skies... 🙄

Late shifts, to tired to get the ‘scopes 🔭 or binoculars :bino2: out for an hour or two when I get home and just want to sleep... 😴

Rest days, cloudy skies... :clouds1:

So once again I'm working. The last of my three days, then five off. My mind was running wild, crazy dreams about work. It's been a couple of those days.

Couldn't sleep so I got up at 2:30 am. Hurried through my get ready routine then went out to Area 51and grabbed my binoculars. .

Only had 20 minutes so I hurried.

First Jupiter, which only had 3 moons showing. It's well past the zenith in the Western sky. From there, up to Pleadies.

Moving to Taurus, I briefly looked at It's brightest star before moving to Orion.

The nebula was incredible, like always.

And giving in to curiosity, I did a quick count. I could count twenty stars inside the four corners, some with averted vision. If I would have tried longer, I might have seen more.

Finally, over to my fuzzy I saw yesterday.

It was almost directly overhead, so I had to take the binoculars off the tripod.

The distinct fuzzy area was the Beehive cluster. The number of stars just amazing!

Now, I'm at work waiting for the powers to be to come unlock the door!

Feels good getting just a quick peek. Wish I had more time. Maybe tomorrow.
