Annoying tripod leg

Hi. Has anyone else had this problem, and how did you fix it.....

Whilst altering the height of one of my tripod legs, the metal sleeve that the screw bolt goes into started to be pulled out whist I was tightening. As a result the screw bolt and the metal sleeve is loose in the hole and now the leg can not be tightened so i cant alter the height and lock it in place.

The sleeve does not turn with the bolt, what it does is as i tighten the bolt the sleeve gets pulled out

Before i spend money of something that wont work, do you think that i should use super glue or something more industrial to hold the sleeve in place. Its annoying as since I am 6 foot 3 leaving the tripod at its lowest hight will do my back in.

As a temporary fix, can you put a C-clamp around the leg to hold the whole thing together? That would work on most of the tripods I am familiar with.

I think hte English nmae for a C-clamp is either 'cramp' or 'G-clamp.'

Thanks I never thought of using a clamp. I suppose that even glue will not be a lasting fix and at some point a replacement leg or whole tripod would be the best outcome.

Hi is it an EQ 2? Mine did the same! I used superglue and it held well.

Shame that they're flimsy that way.
