Solar film differences.

I needed to make a filter for a second camera. I bought the Bader  8"×11" sheet thinking I could use what was left over for simple glasses.

Reading the paper work, it said it shouldn't be used for visual.

So, just what is the difference?

One thing to check is how much it dims the image, it might be that the photography film does not dim the image as much as the visual version.

The baader visual filter film dims by 1/100,000 or in other words ND5 strength.

@maw lod qan The imaging film is ND3.8, i.e. attenuation is 103.8 = 6300, instead of 100,000, so is not safe for visual!!!
