I'll be attempting my first early morning viewing session on the above date.

My targets will be:-

Jupiter rising at 4:30am as well as it's 4 moons.

Venus rising at 5am.

Will post my reports when i make it home.

Just hope the weather is on my side.

Fingers crossed.

Mixed results on this viewing.

Got set up at the location for 4am.

4:30 came and went with nothing on the horizon.

Got out the compass and realised i was looking North East. :)

After a quick scan of the skies to the East i noticed a solitary light.

Slewing the scope i realised i'd found Venus @ 4.50am.

Venus was looking reddish as it was rising and was in a cresent form through a 10mm eyepiece.

Looking towards the South East i found Jupiter @ 5am.

Jupiter was lloking a creamy white through a 100mm eyepiece.

Tried to spot the 4 moons of Europa, Lo, Ganymade & Callisto but at that time the sky was a bright. :(

Decided to stay sat on the Sea Defence wall to watch the sunrise.

Although no moons of Jupiter spotted was still a good morning to view with nice clear skies.

(Just wish i'd used my compass a bit sooner. :))
