ZWO OAG-L and single ZWO filter drawer

Recommended Posts

Probably an odd title but it's causing me a bit of a heartache. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I bought a s/h ZWO OAG-L with the intension of replacing my guide scope. What I did not realize before hand that that the OAG does not have a threaded aperture on on the camera side but it is designed to BOLT on to  a filter wheel or direct to the camera. I do not have a filter wheel but I do have a single ZWO filter drawer which I want to place between the OAG and the camera. The only way that I can see is by using an adapter which ZWO make which is intended to replace a filter wheel. This adapter bolts on to the OAG and provides an M54 aperture, However it is 15mm wide and by the time the single filter drawer and the camera back focus have been added in such a distance would mean that the guide camera would ONLY JUST mount safely to equal the same distance. I wonder a) if the foregoing is understandable!!  and b) if anyone has face a similar issue and come up with a solution.
I should have also said that back focus is not of concern. Thanks, John
