Photoshop tutorials

I've obviously found loads of tutorials online but none of them say "why" to do something or "what to use" in this situation. They are more just watching them do their processing. 

So any really good tutorials you've stumbled across ?

When I started out, I only had Photoshop CS3 and found some of the tutorials by AstroPix were helpful. Not videos but still useful.

Trevor Jones (astrobackyard) is normally okay, he's also got a website too.

You should really check the PS help files, they explain what each tool does, any daytime photo editing tutorial will also teach you the concepts and probably more. Typically watching someone process an astro image is just how they process an image and they usually dont explain why they're doing something (I'm guessing because they've just copied someone else and putting a video out there).

Adam Block is good in this regard as he usually shows the stumbling block and the solution but I believe he mainly uses PI, but his approach is methodological and how you should approach astro processing as not all images will be processed the same.

Eventually you'll have a fixed order of operations set in your mind and it becomes much easier as long as theres no issue with your data.
