My First Full Moon Sighting!

Recommended Posts

Hi Eveyone

I saw my first view of a full moon last Friday and it was amazing! I'd only seen it as a thin crescent (not had my telescope long). I think I need a moon filter though because it was very bright in my eye and when I looked away I felt abit dazzled.

Can anyone recommend a good Moon Filter? I have a Skywatcher Skymax 127 Supatrax

Thanks

If your socpe's camp is equipped with an aperture mask, this is a good time to use it. I have the neutral density filter from the Celestron kit, and it reduces the dazzlement considerable.Using a darker filter like a dark green also helps if you don't have the ND filter. I find green and darkred enhance the contrast between the highlands and the maria, too.
