C/2022 E3 (ZTF) with the C11

Recommended Posts

I've not posted anything for a while, so thought I'd "break the ice" with yet another image of the green comet. This one was from 3 weeks ago when the comet was past its best and the anti-tail had disappeared. It was also taken in full Moonlight which didn't help. I decided to go big with the C11 and take as many exposures as possible before the comet raced out of the field of view. This allowed about 40 minutes worth.

I tried several different methods to get a clean image without star trails, but the only one that worked fairly well was to remove the stars from each sub before stacking. Shame Starnet++ doesn't do batch processing!

Processed using Siril, Starnet++ and Photoshop.

80 x 30s with darks, flats and dark flats. Taken with the C11 at f6.3, ASI294MC Pro and Optolong L-Pro filter.

Thanks for looking.

Clear skies!

Tony.

nicely captured the comet, great green colour

Thanks happy-kat!

Yes the green came out nicely. I didn't have to adjust the colour or saturation, this is just from photometric calibration.
