AZ5 Mount altitude control

Hi I have altered the arm of my AZ5 mount to the vertical position. This means the cable control is now sticking upwards and more difficult to reach. My question is can the altitude gearbox be rotated somehow to bring the cable down to the horizontal position? Otherwise, the mount works very well.

Hi Paul.

I'm not sure if the altitude gearbox can be altered without having the arm at an angle. This would presumably give you easier access to the zenith as well as resolve the osition problem of the altitude control.

I think you can alter the position of the saddle, so it and the scope are parallel with the worm gear. I do know that this is possible with the Porta II.

Why not get a hold of the dealer and ask them to ask the builder ?  I have one on the extension and you just have to reach a bit more or manually move it after backing off the tension a wee tiny bit, works great for me even with my 13lb. NP101.
