OK guys , getting great viewing with the 11mm DeLite and x2 barlow , probably the best details on Mars and Jupiter I have ever had . Also,  impressed with the moon detail and stars.

My question is , if I wanted to push the magnification more what DeLite would you drop to?

I'm thinking 7mm , but don't won't to spend 280 squid to find a 9 or 5 would have being better.

Will be Purley for Mars , Jupiter details.

Happy with my Celestron range for stars and the 11mm DeLite is a great all round go to.

Will be used on Skywatcher 200p

That scope should be able to use 200-250x fairly easily in good seeing (4.8-6mm)

There is no question a 7mm would be usable more often due to seeing, so might get more use.

You already have an 11mm and a 5.5mm (11mm + Barlow), so what you could use is something in between.

11 + 40% = 7.9mm, so an 8mm eyepiece would be great.

Halfway between 11mm and 5.5mm in focal length is 8.3mm, so again an 8mm.

Halfway between in magnification, though, is 7.3mm, so 7mm splits the difference better.

The problem is that your ability to use the 7mm Barlowed is unlikely, but the 7mm by itself would get a lot of use.

The 9mm is a bit close to the 11mm in magnification and 5mm is too close to the 11mm Barlowed.

So I second Louis' recommendation: 7mm.

Thank you chaps, 7mm it is ! Always appreciate your advice.

Nothing worse than buying something that you can't use!

The 11mm with barlow produces my best best views so as said the 7mm by itself sounds perfect.
