Saturn 24.03.09

I've been struggling to get a decent image of Saturn for a week or so, mainly due to the dimness of the image when stacking my x2 and x4 barlows. Last night was the same but then I tried capturing at 5 FPS. What a difference! The on screen image was much brighter.

Included is a single frame of the capture.

That's a beauty.... More evidence perhaps for me that lower frame rate might be the way to go.

The last time I tri8ed that was when I had a motorised EQ2 mount. I was lucky to get 200 frames before the image drifted off the screen. It appears that I can get 1200 frames now at 5fps with the CG5 at F40.
