Yes, I heard about this on Radio 4 this morning.

On hearing what the professor said to John Humphries, I would think that we (the Earth) will suffer a substancial Meteorite impact at some time in the not so distant future.

Perhaps, by the time it happens we will have developed further, not only the technology to track these things earlier, but also to do something about the ones that are on collision course with the Earth.

It is worrying!

I'm a little surprised that an 80 tonne asteroid didn't make it all the way to Earth intact, but then, I'm a psychology graduate so what do I know?

I'm not going to lose any sleep worrying about the big one.
