What's the bolt here at the Declination control on my EQ2 mount do?

Looks to me like it locks the the scope to the polar shaft as a clutch arrangement.

Pure guess, and I'm probably wrong. A better picture would help.

It holds the DEC shaft slo-mo in - thats it really. I'll tell you this is a swine if you remove it cos the spring holding it in place is VERY powerful :)

It doesnt 'do' anythng. Its just part of the assembly is all.
