LDW1
I bought a 2" GSO 42mm SuperView from Agena Astro for $100 C to try out mainly with my f11.4, 80mm refractor. All I have to say is ' not bad ' not bad at all ! Its performance so far, under Bortle 4-5 skies in my back yard on various dsos ie. M13 etc. is a lot better than many experts profess, critic to the rest of us. Next chance I will try it with my NP101 and 90mm refractors under faster conditions. Anyone contemplating an ep this size, for this price don't hesitate. And the weight compared to some is like a feather, a lot like the Russell built models. Spile
I have the Revelation brand of the same eyepiece and I agree it is great for wide field viewing. It pairs nicely with my zoom.
great_bear
It often depends on the scope. I got a 30mm GSO SuperView free with my Dob (I think), in which it's really not very good, but nor did I expect it to be. However, it works wonderfully in my Mak 180 (F15), provides the widest field possible, and I've got no plans to replace it with anything else.
Don Pensack
The design has visible astigmatism at f/10 and probably shouldn't be a top choice below f/8. There are better designs at that focal length, but probably none so inexpensive.
