Deep sky EAA session under near full moon 15th April

Hi Folks

Had a reasonable session last night - in the main, decided to stay with some well known / brighter objects as the full moon was washing out the captures, limiting length of exposures etc and also had some challenges / frustrations with alignment and some niggly dust bunnies to boot. Notwithstanding that an acceptable haul for a couple of hours.

Newbie Beginner here.  Learning every day in an attempt to make wise decisions before wading in.

Is it the moonlight that causes the images - especially NGC 4298 - 4147 - 3753 to have the cloud like center ?

I love seeing examples of those dim galaxies.

Thank You

Hi and welcome,

The op is not using flats, which causes the 'bright circle' ( vignetting ) some stacking software like sharpcap allow you to add a master flat and dark before hand which will result in a more evenly illuminated image and eliminate the dust spots and hot pixels for the most part.  I am sure the op and others will weigh in but I hope this explains a little :)
