Guide scope focus problems

Hi all,

First set up of my guide kit tonight- ASI120Mini guide camera through a ZWO 30F4 MinScope. PHD2 software. 

Went through the set up wizard and took the Darks library run then went to focus and, no matter what I did- focus barrel all the way in and out, sliding camera in and out of the scope, the screen image never changed beyond this-

I could see that the capture was changing due to variations in texture but I couldn't get and change in the image sharpness.

Did you try adding the 25mm long extender on the nose of the camera to give it a bit more travel outwards?

yes, I did have the extender fitted. 

I had a thought last night though, I wonder if PHD2 was detecting the imaging camera as well as the guide cam and had defaulted to that?

Maybe change the gain or exposure as it looks too high

The ASI120mini has 8.5mm flange distance.

The focal length is f/4 x 30 = 120mm.

So measure about 110mm back from the scope objective.

That's roughly where the black front of the 120mini needs to be to get focus.
