I thought I would try my hand at a bit of DSLR imaging today for a change (to the usual smartphone jobbies. I had a few problems reaching focus with the FC76DC which doesn’t have as much backfocus as the FC100DC. Need that shorter rear tube. I eventually attached the T ring directly to the wedge, and that solved it.

The image was relatively small in the field so I may try to add a GPC next time to see if I can make better use of the sensor and get more detail, or better still use the FC100DC.

The seeing wasn’t fantastic, as you can see from the uneven limb, but I’ve seen much worse. With AR 12938 disappearing off one limb and 12941 appearing on the other, I got a real sense of the 3D shape of the Sun, quite cool.
