singlespeeder
Hi Everyone, As I head nearer and nearer to retirement (give me about 5 years and I guess I will be there!) and the fact I'm going on holiday to the south coast of the UK in a month has rekindled my interest in astronomy. Consider me a beginner, really. I have an ETX-125ec and I have never really got on with the finder scope. I got a telrad (yet to fit) for my Europa 8" Newtonian but the telrad seems a bit bulky for my smaller go-to. Has anyone had any luck getting a red-dot finder working on an ETX? If so can you recommend one? Cheers Adam
johninderby
The Rigel QuikFinder is excellent. Compact and ideal for a scope the size of yours. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/finders/rigel-quikfinder-compact-reflex-sight.html
LaurenceT
The red dot finder on my 127Mak would have been perfect if I'd been 3ft tall but using it meant virtually lying down in the grass, not desirable at my advanced age. I did think about the Rigel but opted for the Telrad because of various height extension options. It does look somewhat weird on my short Maksutov but no one is looking except me.
