Curly Claire
So I'm letting my cat in before heading to bed and I look up.....CLEAR SKIES!!! Orion right in front of me! ✨ Clouds coming in fast.....no time to get telescope out so grab my binos! For the first time I see M42 clearly! All I can say other than bloody clouds is WOW WOW WOW! 😁😁😁 Only for a couple of minutes ☁️☁️☁️ but I feel the clouds parted just long enough for me to see what I saw! (I know they didn't but let me keep that thought please) 🤣 I will be heading to bed now unable to sleep because I'm sooooo excited and can't stop smiling! 😁😁😀😀 Slightly warmer out than it has been recently too so would have been a good night to be out for a while. Never mind.....next time! ✨ 15
Zermelo
Congratulations, and never fear - Orion will be with us for some time yet. There's a lot to look at in M42, and also quite a few double stars in Orion. https://stargazerslounge.com/topic/43881-object-list-indexed-by-constellation/?do=findComment&comment=440944

Stu1smartcookie
Hi Claire , Wonderful , isn't it ? Apart from the , admittedly shocking weather we have to put up with , the winter produces some real gems . Lets hope for some lovely clear frosty nights to come .
